Origin was started by Johnny Bhatkar for providing global financial markets related consulting services to Banks/ FIs, Corporate Clients and IT firms.
Johnny comes with rich trading and structuring experience in both cash and derivatives instruments. He was based out of Singapore for several years when he headed structured derivatives business for American Express Bank overseeing the Asia Pacific region. He created customized solutions for bank's clients using range of FX, Rates & Equity derivatives.
He holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from University of Mumbai and an MBA (PGDM) from IIM, Ahmedabad.
Origin works with banks/ FIs and large corporates clients. It specializes in conducting derivatives & risk management training for the front, mid, back office staff, Corporate Banking RMs, IT and Credit staff.
Origin has built a proprietary analytics library for derivatives pricing ,valuation & risk calculations. This library is being used by several large banks for more than a decade. These analytics are market validated for their correctness and form the foundation of trading simulators built for imparting practical training.
Origin believes in problem solving approach . There are large number of exercises spread across various modules that helps the participant crystalize the concepts.
Besides pricing and valuation, Origin also focusses on training users to manage portfolio and run books.
This is done with the help of sophisticated - one of a kind- set of trading simulators that simulates the whole trading and end of day processes including drawing up daily P&Ls, rate fixing, time bucketed Greeks, option exercises and managing cash balances.
Origin brings the experience of training hundred participants from banks, FIs, consulting firms and credit rating agencies to this platform along with real experience of running financial markets business.
